Contribute a Clip to the Research Dataset

This dataset is part of an ongoing research project into video authenticity and forensic signal analysis.

We are collecting real-world camera footage to study the technical fingerprint of authentic video.Real camera footage carries subtle signal patterns created by sensors, optics, compression, and motion. Even after editing or platform uploads, these patterns often remain detectable.By analysing these fingerprints across many clips and devices, we aim to improve how genuine video can be distinguished from AI-generated or manipulated media.

Before uploading, please read the study details so you know exactly how the footage is used and how contributors are credited.

  • Clips are used strictly for forensic research analysis
  • Not used to train generative AI models
  • Original footage is not redistributed without permission
  • Contributors can be credited in the final study

What we need

  • Original clips captured by a real camera or phone
  • B-roll, outtakes, test clips, and everyday footage are welcome
  • Short clips (even 3–5 seconds) are useful
  • Real footage only — not AI-generated or synthetic media
How your footage is used

Uploaded clips are analysed for technical signal properties such as compression artifacts, encoding patterns, motion consistency, and platform degradation.

Clips are used strictly for research analysis. They are not used to train generative AI models and are not redistributed without permission.

Read the full study details for more information.

Real camera footage only. Synthetic, AI-generated, or screen-recorded gameplay clips are not useful for this research dataset. Please upload video captured directly by a camera.

Most contributors upload 2–5 short clips.

Please upload real camera footage only — not AI-generated or synthetic video.
